Why does my Company need a website?

In today's business environment you need to make use of cutting-edge technology and with all stops pulled out to ensure that your business is and stays financially sound and your acceptance in the market gains momentum.

By making use of the Internet as a marketing and sales medium, you stand to attract an untold number of possible clients eager to transact at the best possible price.

Not only can you provide marketing, services and products on a 24/7 basis, but also open your Company doors to people all over the world.  It has never been easier.  Your site can be designed for online-shopping (eCommerce), which means that your visitors can order your products and services and pay for it on-line!
Effectively, this means that your company never sleeps - on the Internet business can be conducted with customers world-wide 24 hours a day.  When its night here, it is morning somewhere else!  Nothing else can provide this kind of potential for sales and market exposure!

The Internet is the most affordable medium today to market your products and services to millions of people all over the world and should you wish to change content (a price or product), one update to your database and it is instantly available to the whole world!

What are the advantages of working with you?

Once appointed by your Company, we are with you all the way.  If you are a newcomer to the Internet, we will handle the registrations of your Domain name (i.e. http://www.yourCompany.com or .co.za) and the setting-up of the site and your email facilities.  If you have a current free email address at one of the many suppliers and you wish to keep it, we can easily reroute your new emails to that address at no cost or disruptions.

We will ensure that we thoroughly understand your requirements and objectives and provide you with a written specification and quotation, keeping in mind the need to save money whilst providing the most functionality.

Througout our development, we keep you in the loop and you are shown our W.I.P (work in progress).  This will enable you and us to ensure that we are on the right track and there are no surprises once we have completed the site.

When the site is up and running fully tested, we are available to ensure that it stays that way.  We have a two-month no-questions-asked guarantee on our delivered and signed-off work.  We are only a phone call away and normally work a 12-hour day and should there be a requirement, on week-ends as well.  Remember, the Internet has no time constraint!

We will ensure that your site is marketed properly on the Internet and on free s/engines.  Should you wish to make use of 'Pay-per-Click' s/engines, we could arrange that.

The above should provide you with peace of mind knowing that your site is in safe hands and that it will be looked after as if it were our own.

How do you begin a project?

After holding JAD sessions (Joint Application Development) and maybe other meetings to determine and understand your particular environment and thereby your specific requirements, we will be in a strong position to recommend whether to use a 'off-the-shelf' eCommerce solution or if it cannot be tailored enough to suit your needs,  design and build an application to suit your specific requirements (which is the best but takes slightly longer).

The outcome of the above meetings will determine the type of site you will need ; a 3 - 5 page static website or anything else up to a full-blown eCommerce website.  It all depends on your requirements and objectives.  You have our guarantee that we will not recommend a Rolls Royce if all you need is a Mini!

Our interaction with you will consist of the following phases.  However, each project is unique and may or may not consist of the full range mentioned here below:
* Investigative consultations (to determine requirements and propose solutions)
* IT assessment and Company Internet strategy
* Risk Analysis done with control proposal
* Hardware / network requirements
* Architecture design / methodologies
* Software selection ('off-the-shelf' parameterized packages / custom built)
* Costing
* Project Management
* JAD sessions (Joint Application Development)
* RAD (Rapid Application Development / customization)
* BPR (Business Process Re-engineering)
* End-user training
* Formal handover
* Continuous maintenance and updates (ad hoc basis)
* Maintenance agreement

Could we pay too much for something that doesn't generate income or provide a service?

This could be possible if the person that will design and develop your site does not have a thorough understanding of your requirements and or your site is not well designed to cater for your specific needs.

Therefore, to ensure that we fully understand your requirements and objectives, we will provide you with a written specification stating what we understand and identifying exactly what will be done.  This document will ensure that your question never happens.

My existing website does not provide any sales or leads. Why?

We will meet with you to obtain an understanding of your requirements and objectives and then analyze the site to see if it fully caters for all your expectations.  Should the site's design and functionality be at fault or whether you are having problems regarding s/engine ranking, responsiveness and user interaction, we will provide you with our recommendations.

Many times it is due to too many ads and links on your pages that lures your prospective clients away from your site instead of bringing them in.  Links are very important, but should be chosen with care and should be ideally reciprocal links.  Quite often, site optimisation will do the trick if you are having problems with slow download speeds or slow responsiveness on the website.

Because it is so easy for a prospective client surfing the web, to click away if they have to wait for a bulky site to download, it is extremely important and imperative to get the users' attention from the first page and keep it whilst the site downloads in the background.  You have but a few seconds to engage them, make sure they stay before losing a prospective client.

Do I have to change my existing ISP if we appoint your company to modify our site?

No, that's not necessary.  All that is required is that you (as the owner of the website) grant us administrative rights on your site and we can then effect the modifications/enhancements that you require.

Could you expand on our existing ideas and design according to our requirements?

Absolutely!  This is the normal process as only then can we really design and develop exactly what you require.

How can we become more noticed on the Internet, as we are not getting our R.O.I from our current site?

There are literally thousands of s/engines on the Internet and luckily there are s/engine submitting programs that could be used with good results.
If marketing your product or service on the Internet has a very high priority you must be prepared to spend some money.  There are quite a few s/engines that operate on a 'Pay-per-Click' basis and on some you could bid to pay a specific rate and they will they then adjust your ranking on their engines accordingly.

There are also other important ways and methods to make yourself 'known' on the Internet and to advise other people/companies that you have an Internet presence.

Many companies offer FREE websites as incentive for hosting. Could we save money going that route?

In the short-term, yes, it is  the cheapest way to get on the Internet, but by NO means suitable for a Company.  What they offer are a few template-based pages that cannot be customised enough to portray your Company and brand on the Internet.  It is mostly for 'Personal/Home' websites.

For a Company that is serious about making money and having a successful website, we would very strongly advise against going this route and also remember that what is offered are mostly static pages riddled with ads that you have no control over as the ISP must somehow recoup his money from somewhere.

What fees do you charge?

Our fees vary according to the complexity of the site and our estimation of how long it will take to complete.
It is not fair to charge a flat fee because an owner of a small static site cannot be expected to pay the same rate as the owner of a complex eCommerce site and vice-versa.  In the end, someone is going to pay for the other one and lose money.

Our entry-level 'brochure' sites normally begin around R 1200 for a basic 5-page static site with a banner and two graphics and our entry-level interactive sites begin at R 2500 for a 5-page site.  To be more precise, please request a quotation for your specific requirements.

Each project is unique with its own complexities and requirements and is priced as such, keeping in mind to provide the ultimate functionality at the best affordable price.  As it is our quest to become your 'supplier-of-choice', we will ensure that each project we undertake, adheres to that.  That is our promise!
